Hi everyone,
What a tremendous event the 1st Annual BetterPhoto Summit was! Besides enjoying the outstanding presentations by many of BetterPhoto's talented team of instructors, I had the privilege of joining Jim Miotke and nine BP photographers on a pre-Summit tour of the Seattle area. We learned all about Puget Sound & things to do in and around Seattle:
One, the Experience Music Project, was a favorite photo subject. This ultra-modern, ultra-awesome museum - dedicated to Jimi Hendrix and designed by noted architect Frank Gehry, who also designed the outstanding Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A. - was closed for the day, but the building's outside offers so many fantastic photo ops.
Our group had fun shooting this modern museum's wall that faced the setting sun - with wonderful clouds and colors reflecting in the sheet metal panels. It's a scene in which you really need to stick with it, since the colors and designs change as the minutes go by, and also change with even the slightest change in your camera position.
My photos below show reflections of an adjacent amusement ride titled "Wild River" and of Seattle's most notable landmark: the Space Needle. What a visual adventure!
That's it for now. Have a great week of photography,
Kerry Drager
