In my Photoshop Tips, Tricks and Filter Magic course here at BetterPhoto……I show a nifty little plug-in filter that amazes a lot of folks. It can add water to a scene and make it look as though it was really there and not photoshopped in. It can mimic the sea or a lake and adds realistic reflections that make your photos look pretty dramatic. In the photo below of the elephant that I shot recently in Africa…I decided to give the image a little more impact with Flood and it took me about 20 seconds to create the body of water and the reflection of the elephant.
The interface is so simple to use as you can see below. You just set where you want the horizon of the water to start……and then you can add the amount of ripples in the water, the waviness of it and other parameters to give your image exactly the look and feel of what you like. It also has a little dice cube to hit that randomizes the effect for you and creates a variety of ones on the fly. This is one of my favorite plug-ins of all time and I have been using it for many, many years.
It is available at www.flamingpear.com and you can dowmload a free demo to play with it yourself and see if you want to purchase it. I guarantee after playing with it for awhile….that you will want it in your arsenal of Photoshop tricks. It is a pretty impressive little add on to Photoshop that will give you some pretty dramatic images.
